Cancer Support Services We Provide

Reach to Recovery • No one should face cancer alone. Specially trained volunteers are breast cancer survivors who live normal and productive lives who offers understanding, support and hope. When women and men first learn they have breast cancer, they may feel overwhelmed and alone. Talking to a Reach to Recovery volunteer at this time can give a measure of comfort and an opportunity to express feelings, talk about fears and concerns and ask questions.

Look Good/Feel Better • This program is a complimentary national service designed to teach cancer patients techniques to help restore their appearance and self image during treatments of radiation and/or chemotherapy. All Look Good/Feel Better consultants are Arizona State licensed Cosmetologists who help patients address skin, hair and appearance needs during “hands-on” sessions. Each participant receives a complimentary kit of cosmetics that is made specifically for them to use during and after the workshop. We Care Cancer Support Inc, Look Good/Feel Better and staff are product neutral and does not promote or endorse manufacturers or their products. All make up kits are new and unopened donated by the cosmetic industry to the American Cancer Society.

Materials are also offered in Spanish. Materials are also offered for men.

Childhood Cancer: Children with cancer and their families have special needs that can be best met by children’s cancer centers. Treatments of childhood cancer in specialized centers takes advantage of a team of specialists who know the differences between adult and childhood cancers as well as the unique needs of children. These centers will offer your child the most up to date treatment through participation in clinical trials or studies of promising new therapies.

Men Against Cancer: Men Against Cancer is put in place to bring hope to men and their families who aren’t sure where to turn.  By providing support and education, Men Against Cancer plays an important role in the community of male cancer patients by encouraging men and health care professionals to actively consider screenings which are appropriate to each man’s age and risk factors.  Cancer Survivors are encouraged to actively participate in raising community awareness to the importance of regular screenings as early detection save lives.  Together we will make a difference in cancer awareness for Men.

T.I.G.E.R Assistance Program: The T.I.G.E.R Assistance program will help cancer patients who are experiencing financial hardship getting to and from their cancer treatments. Laurence “Tiger” Phemister battled brain cancer for ten years before succumbing in July 2007 ~ one of his last wish was to help other cancer patients ~ T.oday I. G.ive E.xtra R.elief.
